Google Sync、iPhoneなどで利用可能に

　サーとパーティーのアプリなどで実現していたGoogleサービスとiPhoneの連携を、Googleがモバイルサービスとして提供を開始しました。日本語環境だと姓名が逆になったり、いろいろと問題は多そうですが、まず第1歩。

　Googleもオフィシャルに「データのバックアップをまず行うように」と手順に掲載しているとおり、シンクが始まるとiPhone上のデータを上書きする（MobileMeでも同様）。そのため、きちんとiTunesなどでアドレス帳やカレンダーのデータをバックアップを確実に行ってから手順をしてください。

　シンクサービスはMicrosoft Exchangeのアカウント設定から行う当たりを見ると、iPhoneそのものが持っているシンクサービスではなく、ExchangeのサービスがGoogleのサーバとiPhoneの間を取り持つことになる。そしてメールは今まで通り、Gmailの設定から行い、Exchange経由のGoogle Syncはカレンダーとアドレスブックだけを使うことになる。

　iPhoneの「メール/連絡先/カレンダー」の設定画面では、シンクする内容を個別にON/OFFができる。アドレスブックの対応が不安であれば、カレンダーだけONにする、といった使い方もできるので、対応状況を見てちょっとずつ導入していけばよいのではないか、と思う。

　ちなみに、Google Syncに限らずだけれど、iPhoneにメールで送られてきたiCalender形式の招待や予定の変更の通知って、iPhoneのカレンダーアプリでは対応してくれていないですよね。出先でメールで届いた予定の招待などを、iPhone上でアレンジできるととても便利、というかそうあるべきだ、と思ったりしているんだけれど。
